Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, registering for, or using the MyChef application ("App"), you accept these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept the Terms, please do not use the App.

2. End User License Agreement (EULA)

MyChef grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on your devices for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

• Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or decompile the App;
• Sell, rent, sublicense, or distribute the App;
• Attempt to bypass security measures or use the App in a way that harms the service.

If the App was obtained through the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies. Where these Terms conflict with the Apple EULA, the more restrictive applicable terms govern. Apple is not a party to the App but is a third-party beneficiary of the EULA relating to the App. If the App was obtained through Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.

3. Creating and Securing Your Account

• You agree to provide accurate and current information.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use the App.

4. Acceptable Use & User Content

You agree not to use the App in ways that are unlawful, harmful, defamatory, infringe copyright, or violate the rights of others. Unauthorized access to systems, automated bulk requests (bots/scraping), and abuse of the service are prohibited.

User content: you retain ownership of the content you upload to the App (e.g. photos, recipes you create, and lists). By uploading this content, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to use it solely to provide the service to you (hosting, display, processing). You represent that you own the rights to the content you upload and that it does not infringe the rights of third parties. Profile and recipe cover photos you upload are checked automatically for inappropriate content before other users can see them; for this check the photo is sent to Google Gemini only after you consent in the app (see Privacy Policy, Section 6). A photo that fails the check is not accepted.

5. AI-Generated Content

The App uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to generate recipe suggestions, cooking advice, and calorie estimates. This content is generated automatically and may contain errors or be incomplete. You are responsible for decisions you make relying on AI output (for example, allergen-containing ingredients, cooking safety, consumption of raw/undercooked food). Always do your own check on food safety and allergies.

6. Subscriptions (MyChef PRO)

MyChef offers an optional paid premium subscription (MyChef PRO). Subscription terms:

• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Billing: payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at the time of purchase and at each renewal. The current price is shown on the purchase screen.
• Management & cancellation: you can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your device's App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
• Refunds: because payments are processed by Apple or Google, refund requests are subject to the relevant store's policies.
• Free trial: if a trial period is offered, it converts into a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.

7. Health, Nutrition and Allergen Notice

MyChef is not a medical or nutritional counseling service. The calorie estimates, nutrition values, step/activity calculations, and dietary information offered in the App are for general informational purposes only and are estimates. They do not replace the advice of a physician, dietitian, or qualified health professional. Consult a health professional before making any diet, health, or allergy-related decision.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, logos, design, text, software, and all content provided by MyChef belong to MyChef or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in this content.

9. Changes to the Service

We continuously improve the App and the features we offer. We may change, suspend, or remove any feature with or without prior notice, as technically necessary. If a material restriction affects your paid subscription, we will inform you and respect the rights granted to you by applicable consumer law.

10. Termination

If you breach these Terms, we may suspend or terminate your access to your account without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time. Your license ends upon termination.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we make no express or implied warranties. MyChef does not warrant that the App will operate uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, MyChef is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. These limitations do not apply to cases of intent or gross negligence, or to consumers' non-waivable statutory rights.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not accept them, you may stop using the App and delete your account. The current version is always published on this page.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Mandatory consumer-protection provisions are reserved. Users who qualify as consumers may apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committees and Consumer Courts at their place of residence or where the transaction took place, in the event of a dispute. Consumers based in the EU retain their rights under their country's mandatory consumer-protection provisions.
